2011 Dec Phuket Thailand

We didn't arrive in Bangkok until 1am and checked into a hotel that's only 10 minutes from the airport. After checking out next morning, we took a taxi for another hour to Khao San area where we will be picked up for the Flights of Gibbon trip the next day.

Took time to walk around Khao San Road and had lunch and dinner in the area, also tried food from various street vendors. 

We booked a 2-day trip with the Flight of the Gibbon. It was truly an unforgettable experience packed with fun and action.

DAY 1: 
6am - Picked up by their really nice VIP van. kids took nap on the ~1.5hr ride to the site
8am - Flight of the Gibbon zipline in the canopy through 24 platforms in the ancient rain-forest 
11am - Lunch
12:30pm - Driving a golf cart through the open zoo
3pm - Check into tent-style resort in the zoo and rest
5pm - Tiger show at the zoo
6pm - Dinner at the resort
8:30pm - Night safari to spot some nocturnal animals, saw porcupine, mountain goats, etc

DAY 2:
8am - Breakfast at resort
9am - Go Gibbon - jungle gym where I had some difficulties with balancing myself on suspending bars and ropes
11am - Elephant Trek
12pm - Lunch
1:30pm - Final zipline over a river
2pm - on way back to Bangkok 

The rest of our vacation, we practically didn't do anything other than relaxing on the beach and playing by the pool. LG played golf twice and we took an excursion trip to Phi Phi Islands.
