There isn't much autumn color in Shanghai, especially in the concrete forests of Pudong. Children got an extra day off on Mon, so we set out in searching for some real fall color.
Arrived in the Thousand Islands Lake around lunch time, tried the famous local cuisine "fish head soup".
Continued on the road toward Long Chuan Wan which is on the west end of the lake. Found this newly developed park/resort area from a travel magazine:
龙川湾景区是千岛湖唯一的湖泊型湿地，一万余亩原生态阔叶林，芒荻花成簇的滩涂湿地，是很多摄影爱好者的私藏。景区内保留了一些当年知青下乡的旧址，并以此为主题开发成住宿、餐饮、娱乐齐全的度假村，按三星水平建造，小有设计感。这里适合专业摄影爱好者，也适合一帮朋友或车友结伴来玩，休闲、放松，除了景区的门票稍微贵了些，食宿性价比都很高。整个景区目前有芒花漾、摘星台几处已开发好的景点，尤其是芒花漾值得重点推荐，景区在十一、二月份景致最佳。顺着景区主要步道往里走很快就到了芒花漾湿地，这是龙川湾最让摄影师流连的地方，芒荻花成簇相拥，阳光好的天气最好看，高挑的芒荻花在强光线下有着巨大的光感反差，尤其是深秋，几乎褪成了麦黄色。一旁小路上金灿灿的野花开得正旺，原来秋天不只有红色的美。过了芒花漾湿地，是摘星台，可以俯瞰湖泊风光。龙川湾里的枫树、阔叶林分散在整个半岛上，不管走到哪儿，抬头都是色彩斑斓。再加上相隔几步就有一个或大或小的湖泊，红黄相间的阔叶林倒映在湖面上，说它是幅油画一点也不过份，所以来这里手上的相机要记得备足电池哟！
After a brief morning walk in Long Chuan Wan, we headed back to Hang Zhou. It was very foggy in the morning, and by the time we arrived in Hang Zhou, it was drizzling. Lunch place was so crowded, we ended up in the place next door. Food was alright.
Checked in the guesthouse 茶香丽舍 which was also recommended by the travel magazine.
Visited HuPao Spring Park which is ~15 minutes on foot.
